Sony 16GB Class 10 SDHC Memory Card Review

March 21, 2013

Everything anymore uses some type of memory card and  can remember when they were rather expensive but now you can get them very cheaply, and that’s name brands not just off-brands. Most cameras use a stand SD or SDHC memory card, which is nice but I’ve found not all are created equal and the type you get or need to get depends on what you’re going to be doing. Memory cards come with speed class ratings, and considering most things these days are HD you’ll most likely want at least a Class 10 card which is meant for most any type of HD shooting be it video of consecutive stills. Today for review I’ve got the 16gb Sony Class 10 SDHC memory card which is not only rated at class 10 obviously but Sony boasts the card can reach speeds of up to 22mb/s. I’ve put it up against the 16gb class 10 card I’ve been using for comparison and I’ve found the Sony card actually went slightly over that 22 mb/s, which is a very good thing. So read on especially if you’re looking for an inexpensive and fast memory card for your cameras….

Tiny memory cards like the M2, MicroSD and MMC micro are becoming more and more popular and very inexpensive, they are being used in many portable devices these days. One of the things with these cards is if you have a few devices that use them, you’ll need to carry around a few different cables to transfer the data to and from them. That just seems like a bit much to be carrying around, so why not just get something like I have for review today from our friends at Brando WorkShop, it’s called the Micro Drive, and it turns any of those tiny memory cards into a USB drive that can be used for storage or just to read the cards…Read on to check it out…

Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 from USBGeek

April 25, 2007

Quite a few types of devices out there today use some sort of memory card to store their data on, be it music, photos, games etc. What I’ve always wondered is why don’t computer manufacturers include card readers as a standard feature on their computers. Yes some do, but most don’t, so what you need to do is go and buy a separate card reader for your system like the one I have today for review from USBGeek. The Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 is just that, a card reader with a couple extra USB ports on it, no audio ports, no firewire, none of that stuff. How many people actually use all those ports anyway? I know I don’t, but I do use a card reader all the time and my USB ports. So this product is simple but yet right on with what is needed by most people.

November 20, 2006

If you have an older laptop like mine chanced are you don’t have a memory card reader of any kind built into it, even some of the newer ones don’t either, so you need to carry a separate card reader if you wish to have the ability to read any type of flash cards. Of course the less we have to carry with us the better it is, so we try and find the smallest and most useful devices we can. Today for review I have a tiny 51 in 1 USB card reader courtesy of our friends at Brando WorkShop, this thing is tiny, slim and reads pretty much every type of flash card out there. It has become a new addition to my laptop bag, and the older, larger one has been retired from service. So you’ll need to read on to learn some more about this great little card reader…

Lots and lots of devices these days use memory cards, and there are all types of them, but not many computers come with a built in card reader, especially one that can reader pretty much every type of card. So, what is a person to do about this? Well, you could get a little external reader that just reads cards, which are nice but somewhat lacking. The other option would be to get a drive bay type of reader which makes access to your cards at your fingertips, so why not get a reader that is more than a reader? Today for review I have the SilverStone FP34 Premium 3.5 card reader and front I/O combo device. The FP34 pretty much puts all those ports that are located on the back of your PC on the front of your PC for much easier access. Read on to check it out some more….
