Diablotek PHD450 PHD Series 450 Watt Power Supply Review

Summary and Comments

The Diablotek PHD450 isn’t a power supply made for gaming systems obviously, 450 watts isn’t much when it comes to most video cards that require 500 watts or more.

I used the PSU for a while in my kids computer and it seemed fine, no issues but it wasn’t powerful enough for any real gaming. I had to switch it out so I could put a bigger video card in it.

For basic uses this PSU should be fine, like my wife just uses her computer for word processing and Facebook really, so this PSU would be fine for her.

The PHD450 seems to work but I’m not sure I would trust it as it doesn’t ever get above 3.3v or 5v on those rails and to me that means there’s something funky going on with it.

Personally I wouldn’t use this PSU for anything very important as it just doesn’t seem reliable. I looked around and found numerous complaints about it online and that’s never a good sign.

DragonSteelMods gives the Diablotek PHD450 PSU a 3.5 out of 5 score.
