Installation, Testing and Comparison Continued:

Since I am in Pittsburgh I figured why not take pictures of something we are famous for, Steel Mills and the surroundings. Near where I live there is a monument of sorts that is dedicated to the old Carnegie Steel Homestead Works Steel Mill that is now The Waterfront, The Waterfront is a shopping mall type place with condos and other businesses in the area that stretch along the river on the land that was once occupied by the Homestead Works Steel Mill.

A bit of trivia is that the Homestead Works was the largest steel plant in the United States, so that should give you an idea of just how big the Waterfront shopping plaza is. Across the river from the Homestead Works, Carrie Furnace is still standing, at least parts of it are, and I figured that might make a great subject to shoot to see just how good the telescope in on this camera. There is an initiative actually to get Carrie Furnace and its surrounding thirty eight acres declared a national park to preserve some of the history of the area and of the United States.

So I packed my laptop up, and my normal digital camera, and away I went, that whole ten minute drive from my house. Anyway, what I decided to do for this was to take some pictures with my digital camera from the standard distance with no zoom, then zoom in and take a picture then snap the same picture with the USB Camera with Telescope so we can see the differences, and whether they are good or bad.

These first two pictures you are going to see are of Carrie Furnace with my laptop and USB Camera in the picture. You can see in the pictures it is an overcast day, but actually fairly bright.

These next two pictures are of Carrie Furnace through the USB Camera with Telescope, the USB Camera does not like bright light at all, and there is no way to adjust the brightness through the software that was provided when taking still pictures.
