SD iDuo 2-in-1 Stylus & Pen Review

I have a brief review today of a very useful little product. The SD iDuo 2-in-1 Stylus & Pen is a stylus and it’s a pen, it’s both actually. One end is pen then flip it over and you can use it as a mobile phone stylus or with your tablet to navigate, play games or take notes with instead or using your finger. Sure it’s not exactly an exciting product, but it’s one that works well and is one that I find just very handy and useful.

The Review

There is no special packaging for the iDuo stylus, it’s just a plastic bag.

Then here’s the stylus or pen, or whatever you might want to call it. It’s black with silver or chrome accents on it.

The pen tip comes out when you rotate the barrel and it has black ink.

On the back end, what looks like an eraser, is actually the stylus. It’s essentially a very soft piece of rubber that is capacitive and will work with any device with a capacitive screen.

style5

The pen part writes very well, it’s smooth and a pleasure to write with, in fact I’ve been using it pretty much everyday and it has earned a permanent spot on my desk.

style6

I’ve got a few tablets but my primary one is the Acer Iconia A500, which is what I used the iDuo stylus with.

style8

The stylus worked very well for everything I did, in fact it’s extremely sensitive or the screen is or it’s a combination of the two. If you’ll notice the above picture the stylus section is off of the screen, the reason for that is that when I had the stylus part on the screen it kept activating programs while I was trying to take the picture. I didn’t even have to touch it to make it do anything.

I do have another stylus / pen similar to this one but from Newertech, both of which are fine writing instruments and both function very well as a stylus. The big difference I think is the price, the Newertech costs $20, while the iDuo only costs $16.

Summary and Comments

There’s not much to really say about a product like this, it’s one of those things that works or it doesn’t and this one does.

The SD iDuo 2-in-1 Stylus & Pen is a pleasure to use really, it writes very nicely and then just flip it over to use it with your phone or tablet.

The stylus end works perfectly, it actually seems work better than my fingers do.

The pen itself is nice and well made, it’s metal and feels nice in the hand, not too heavy and not too light.
