Targus 10.2" Tablet Bag With Pockets Review

May 11, 2013
By

Tablets are great, I have a few of them myself and I very much enjoy them and I really enjoy taking them with me as entertainment, but that’s just me. Many people use their tablets for work, but if you use your tablet for work or play you need a case for it when you take it with you. Tablets can be expensive, and accidents happen, and having a case of bag for your tablet is more than just protection, it will let you take things with you like your work or accessories for that tablet. Targus is well known for making cases and bags and an assortment of other accessories and for review today I have a case or bag from Targus that’s actually called the Clamshell Laptop Case XS. These days laptop cases do double duty, they’re being sold as not only laptop cases but with the rise in popularity of tablets, they’re also sold as something to protect and transport your tablet. This is a good thing I think as it gives us more options when choosing a case or bag for our tablets. The type of bag you’ll choose is of course up to you and your personal needs, today I have one such option for you to take a look at. This bag from Targus is fairly inexpensive, and it’s got plenty or room inside with padding and plenty of pockets for your accessories.  So read on…

"We are a mobile society, we take quite a bit with us and that includes laptops which aren’t exactly heavy duty and durable. Let’s face it, accidents happen, so I figure why not be prepared and at least protect your electronics with a decent bag or case? Today for review I have the Pakuma Choroka K2 laptop messenger bag that will fit laptops up to 15.4” in size. This laptop isn’t inexpensive, but it’s not overly expensive either, it sells for about $50 and I think it’s well worth it. The K2 bag features the Pakuma Cocoon system to protect your laptop, which uses memory foam to keep your laptop from getting damaged. The bag also has plenty of room for everything you need for the day, and there’s an abundance or pockets to help keep things organized and separated. So read on to learn more… "

Latosta Portable Laptop Stand

Latosta Portable Laptop Stand

One of the first products that I ever
reviewed for Dragonsteelmods was a laptop stand. For today’s
review I have come full circle as I am going to discuss a novel
product from a company called lightlaptopstands.com called the
Latosta Portable Laptop Stand
.
It is designed to passive cool your machine while providing an
ergonomic angle to work at in a truly portable form. This is a
simple product that falls under the “why didn’t I think of that”
category.

Basically the
product is comprised of two simple metal brackets that slide onto
each side of the laptop and elevates the back of the machine off the
work surface. Imagine the flip down tabs on the back of desktop
keyboards; that is the mechanism at work with this product.

According to its
creator – Alan Starner his impetus for designing this product was
the lack of truly portability in portable laptop stands. Well the
Latosta Portable Laptop
Stand couldn’t be any more portable! Let’s take a closer look.

XPAD SLIM Non-slip Laptop Cooler & Heatshield

XPAD SLIM Non-slip Laptop Cooler & Heatshield

Laptops are great products, they allow
us to take our computers with us easily to get work done and have fun
as well. There’s one problem with most laptops though, they’re really
not meant to be on your lap, they all can get fairly hot and being on
your lap is the possibly of covering the vents or fans making them
even hotter and even more uncomfortable to use.

There are many types of laptop coolers
and pads out there, but many of them are big and bulky and also many
have fans in them requiring power thus draining your battery a bit
quicker than normal. Quite a while back I reviewed the Xpad laptop
cooler and found it to be a very nice product overall, today I’ve got
the latest version, the Xpad Slim. The Xpad Slim is much thinner than
it’s predecessor, and lighter, though it is essentially the same
look, an X style pattern of raised bumps that lifts your laptop up to
allow better airflow under it, while at the same time shielding you
legs from the heat.

JerkStopper Laptop Power Cord Retention Kit

JerkStopper Laptop Power Cord Retention Kit

There are many products out there that
make you think ‘Why didn’t I think of that’, they just seem so
simple, but yet very useful. Have you ever forgotten your laptop was
plugged in and started to walk away with it? That’s a stupid question
really, because everyone who has a laptop has done it at least once.
If you do this enough times though you can damage your power supply
or AC adapter, it’s just wires after all and they can break or even
tear if enough force is applied to them.

Today I’ve got the JerkStopper Cable
Retention Device for review, it’s a very simple and useful product
that will protect the AC Adapter on your laptop from possible damage
when accidentally pulling or tugging on it. The JerkStopper works by
utilizing a free USB, RJ11 or RJ45 port, it’s two pieces that clip
together to lock your AC adapter cable in place, so if you do
accidentally move your laptop while it’s still plugged in the force
of the action is taken by the JerkStopper instead of your adapter’s
plug. What’s nice it that you can use it for other cables as well
like phone, USB or ethernet.

2.5 inch SATA HDD Multi-Function Dock

Being able to take our data with us is very important, be it musics, pictures or even work related stuff. USB Drives are nice but even though they are getting bigger in capacity, they still can’t carry the amounts of data that a hard drive can, so we have companies that come up with ingenious HDD enclosures so we can take our data with us and protect it at the same time.

On the review block today I have the 2.5 inch SATA HDD Multi-Function Dock from our friends at USBGeek, and it offers the ability to take a 2.5” SATA drive with us wherever we go, along with a dock to put it into and even additional USB ports along with built-in card reader. While this product is a great idea, and it does work well, it does have one major flaw…

Otterbox Laptop Case Accessory Kit Review

April 16, 2008
By

otter-access10

If you need to protect your laptop, pda, cellphone or almost anything you'll want to check out the line of products from Otterbox , they offer quality, durability and protection from the elements as well. If you've got a rugged lifestyle, or just need good quality protection for your stuff, then Otterbox has got you covered.

I've got, in my opinion, the best laptop case on the market today, at least for protection of my laptop. The Otterbox 7030 Laptop Case protects my laptop from dust, dirt, water, shocks and even from being crushed but there isn't really any space to carry anything else with you but your laptop in the case, there are no pockets or anything like that. Recently Otterbox released an accessory kit for their 7030 Laptop Case, which allows you to now carry pens, pencils, business cards and documents easily inside your Otterbox 7030 laptop case.

It's a two piece kit that attaches with velcro to the inside of the lid of the case, the velcro makes it easy to install and remove if not needed. Having it in two parts is useful as well, you can grab the documents folder section and you've got a nice little carrier for your folders and papers. The second section holds your writing instruments and has a little pocket for business cards, both sections are made of durable nylon so they should last as long as the case. So now, not only will the 7030 case protect your laptop from the rigors of daily life but also your documents as well.
