XTracPads Logic Hard Surface Mousepad Review

XTracPads Logic Hard Surface Mousepad

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a
look at any mousepads hasn’t it? Well today I’ve got a very new type
of mousepad from our friends over at XtracPads. The pad is called the
Logic, and it’s not what I would call a pad at all, when you think of
pad, you think thick and soft really. The Logic is paper thin, it
features a hard surface, but yet you can essentially fold it in half,
or almost in half, folding it will crease it. The Logic features an
adhesive backing so you can literally stick it in place and it won’t
move from where you put it. So read on…

Logic

Making your mouse happy has
never been easier thanks to the XTracPads Logic. This new surface is
more than a simple desktop skin.

Logic is THE FIRST precision
gaming mouse surface with a semi adhesive backing in the computer
gaming industry.

Here are some features that
make the Logic so cool. First up is the world class plastic surface.

On top is a state of the art
polypropylene material for superior mouse tracking. The NEW material
is extremely fast and accurate.

Get your groove on with your
choice of three flavors, Hex, Black and Pink.

Logic can be utilized as a
stand alone surface OR as a replacement topper for your existing
mouse pad.

Happiness is a mouse surface
that stays in place. Logic employs our exclusive Stick Em semi
adhesive backing that you can trust to stay put.

The Stick Em backing is also
easy to clean and can be used over and over.

Last but not least is the
reusable Logic backing panel. This panel acts as a substrate so you
can transport your Logic easily. Helping you remove the Logic from
your desktop surface is another benefit for you. Simply place the
panel beneath one of the corners of the Logic and slowly peel it from
the desktop surface.

A
Better Look at Things:

There’s not much to look at when
it comes to packaging, just a thin cardboard folder like package with
specs and features listed along with a cut-out space on the front so
you can actually fell the surface.

Opening it up we find the Logic
pad and that’s it. The one I got for review is basically solid black,
with a dark gray stripe going down the right side and ending with the
XTracPads logo.

The Logic is very flexible, you
can almost bend it fully in half, but you can’t though or else you
will crease it and ruin it really… On the back is just the paper
backing for the adhesive.

Installation,
Testing and Comparison:

The Logic is a small pad, much
smaller than I like personally, it’s the size of a standard sheet of
paper.

Installing the Logic is easy, it’s
small so it will fit on most any size desk, just remove the backing
and stick it where you want it, and it will stay put. You can remove
it and re-use it if you wish as the adhesive is not meant to be
permanent. One other use for the Logic is that you can stick it on
top of another mousepad that you might have floating around.

If you couldn’t tell by the
picture, I used the Logic with my Microsoft Sidewinder X8 wireless
gaming mouse and it worked perfectly, tracking was excellent in all I
did whether gaming or just general usage.

As I said I’m not too fond of the
small size, it took a bit for me to get accustomed to it as I
normally use a larger pad, and being so thin, it was easy to fall off
the edges.

Since it’s so thin though, it
doesn’t cause any strain on your wrist and there’s no edge to rub
against either.

The Logic is very thin, that we
know, and that’s not only a good feature but also a flaw. Since it
sticks to the surface it will conform to that surface, if you don’t
clean the surface properly, and maybe have something under there, it
will conform to whatever shape is under it, possibly giving you a
bumpy surface instead of a smooth one.

Summary
and Comments:

The XTracPads Logic is a very good
mousepad for the right person, it tracks well and is well made.

The Logic is a mousepad of a
different kind, it can’t really be called a pad, as there’s no ‘pad’
involved, it’s paper thin, but yet has a hard surface to it making it
very unique.

For me though the Logic just isn’t
something that I like, but that’s me personally, it’s too small and
really too thin, but that’s not to say others will feel the same way
about it as I do.

So if you’re in the market for a
very thin mousepad then give the Logic a try, it’s inexpensive coming
in at $14.95.

DragonSteelMods gives the
XTracPads Logic a 4.5 out of 5 score.

Pros:

+Smooth surface

+Good tracking

+Very thin

+Seems durable and tough

+Portable

Cons:

-Conforms to surface

-A bit small for me personally

I
would like to thank
XTracPads for the chance to review the Logic and for their continued support of DSM.
