HTC HC C652 Hard Case with Kickstand for HTC Titan Cellphone Review

I don’t know about you, but my phones and mostly all of mygadgets must have cases on them. I paid quite a bit of money for these things and as we all know, accidents happen. No matter how careful we are with our stuff, things can happen out of our control that can quickly turn our devices into useless junk. I’ve got an HTC Titan Windows Phone and it’s nice, and it’s expensive and it needs protection so today for review I’ve got the HTC HC C652 Hard Case with Kickstand for the Titan. This case is meant to protect the Titan from bumps and drops and scrapes but it also has a built-in kickstand for your viewing pleasures.

A Better Look at Things

No special packaging for this case, just a plastic bag. None really needed I think.

The case is a shell that just snaps onto the Titan. The inside of it has a rubberized feel to it and shouldn’t damage your phone. The case itself is plastic as you might expect, it’s semi-ridged, flexible enough to get onto the phone without much hassle.

The back is textured and it’s actually kind of soft. You can push your fingernail into it and the mark you left will disappear after several minutes. There are of course holes for the camera, flash and speaker along with cut-outs on the edges for buttons and ports.

The main little feature of this case is the built-in kickstand. There’s a small button you push in and the kickstand will pop out. The stand itself is metal and easily supports the weight of the Titan.

Installation, Usage:

Here are a few pictures of my Titan with the case:

Getting the case on the Titan is easy; you just put one side in and push the phone into the case. The case flexes enough for the phone to slide right in, but not enough so you have to worry about the phone coming out by itself.

Here’s a close up to show you the slight texture of the back of the case, the HTC logo is there as well.

The camera, flash and speaker are completely unobstructed.

The kickstand works fine, it’s a neat little feature that personally I thought I could live with or without, but I’ve found it to be rather useful. It is handy addition though if you use your phone for movies and such, and you could put the phone in dock mode and have it sitting on your desk with the stand in use.

The Titan is a big phone with a big 4.7” screen. Normally I don’t care much for watching videos on phones, but with the Titan it’s not so bad anymore because of that large screen.

All of the ports and buttons are easily accessible; the cut-outs are larger than the actual buttons and ports.

Summary and Comments

So it’s a case for your Titan, and yes it can offer a decent amount of protection for your phone. There are plenty of choices when it comes to cases for your phones, but this one is from HTC so you know it’s going to fit perfectly and be a quality made product, and it does and is.

I do have one small complaint, the case really only covers the back of the phone and most of the sides and not any part of the top at all. I think I would prefer a case that wraps around a bit more to help protect the screen. I’d like it to have that few millimeters of bumper space above the screen just in case, but as is the HTC C652 isn’t a bad choice really.

DragonSteelMods gives the HTC TITAN Hard Case a 4.5 out of 5 score.

Pros:

  • +Protects phone
  • +Convenient kickstand
  • +All ports and buttons accessible

Cons:

  • -Only really covers back of phone
  • -A bit expensive
