I don’t know about you but unless I specifically write a note or stick my MP3 player in open view I always seem to forget to re-charge it. I do it all the time actually and it’s really annoying. Some MP3 players come with a car charger or you can buy one specifically for your model, but that’s just an extra unwanted cost really. My MP3 player charges via any USB port which is nice actually, because I can just plug it in while I’m working and it’s ready to go, but the key being that you need to plug it in, and that’s something that I never seem to remember to do.

Today for review I’ve got an inexpensive and very useful device that allows you to power or charge any device that features a USB connection, such as my MP3 player. The useful part about this is that it is dual powered, or actually tri-powered, it can be plugged into a standard household outlet, or your car, and it even comes with a European plug adapter so you can travel with it as well.

A Better Look at Things

:

There’s no fancy packaging with the 2-in-1 Car and Home USB Charger Adapter, it comes in just a plastic ziplock bag.

One thing I really like about this gadget is that it is self-contained, no wires to get tangled and really no parts to get lost. If you don’t foresee yourself traveling abroad then you don’t need to carry the adapter plug with you everywhere, you can stash it somewhere like in your luggage so you know where it is, and it’s ready to go with you.

The car adapter part of this gadget is hidden and protected under a removable cover that just snaps on and off as needed. The electrical plug folds in and out of the device as well, so it is not in the way. There are no buttons to press, no nothing to do except plug it in and you’re ready to go, very easy to use. The 2-in-1 Car and Home USB Charger Adapter itself seems well made, it is very lightweight and small, making it very portable.

Installation, Testing and Comparison

There is really no installation involved, on newer cars there are a few power plugs, my vehicle, a 2007 Subaru Forester has three power plugs located in easily accessible places.

For testing I plugged it in and then plugged my MP3 player into it to charge it up, the 2-in-1 Car and Home USB Charger Adapter worked fine with no problems at all. It does have a single green LED on it to indicate power to let you know it’s working.

The 2-in-1 Car and Home USB Charger Adapter is not too big so it shouldn’t get in the way, I was a bit worried it might get in the way of my shifter but as you can see there was plenty of clearance. If it was in the way I could have easily used one of the other connections though.

There’s not much to this device, it works and works well, it’s easy to use and when you’re done with it just throw it in the glove box for later use.

Summary:

The 2-in-1 Car and Home USB Charger Adapter is something that is simple, easy to use but yet very useful. If you’re like me then you don’t always remember things, or you’re just too busy with other things going on to remember to charge your portable devices.
