The Review:

Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:

The packaging for the Ustek SM451 earphones is very nice looking, the front flap opens up to reveal a window showing the earphones along with the extra bud cover, remote and you can see the 3.5mm connector.

The cable is actually thin and I’m guessing tangle free as most like this are, the cable seems very nicely made and sturdy. In-line on the cable is a clip that you can take off if you want to and the cable is about 50 inches long and it ends in a gold plated 3.5mm connector.

In-line you’ll find the remote control which has a slider and a single multi-function button. The slider is for volume control you just slide let and right to adjust the volume, this is my favorite part I think, the slider is neat. The single button is supposed to control paly/pause and allow you to skip tracks, but I couldn’t get the track function to work on my Android phone.

The earphones are nicely made and they’re marked with L and R for right and left. The earbud covers are a semi-clear gray color with a red inside that you can see through the covers for a nice presentation. The earphones feel very well made and they’re lightweight.

I tested these with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Android phone and I have to say I’m very impressed with the sound quality. These cost less than twenty dollars so I wasn’t expecting much at all, and they truly surprised me in just how good they sound.

They have a very nice balance of bass and treble, I’ve got no complaints at all about the sound quality, they’re just great really.

The volume slider worked perfectly fine and the button worked fine for play and pause functions but the function for skipping tracks did not work at all for me for whatever reason.

Summary and Comments

For the price these could be like a perfect budget set of earphones except for the fact that I couldn’t skip tracks. The sound is just amazing and they’re very comfortable to wear for long periods of time and they just feel well made overall.

I’m not sure what the issue is with the button, it could be a bad set or they might not specifically work with my phone, don’t know what to say there.

For the price these earphones are worth it even if the skip track function doesn’t work.
