USB hubs come in all shapes and sizes these days, you can find them in many themes as well, but the majority of these hubs have one inherent flaw: The spacing of their ports, they are usually too close together to allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time.
Today for review I've got the USB Star Hub from our friends at Brando WorkShop, this hub eliminates this problem by providing ports that can be rotated 180 degrees allowing pretty much any sized device to be attached. The Star Hub itself is very colorful and seems to be well made, it's also lightweight making it portable to take with you anywhere you need to.

A Better Look at Things:
The USB Star Hub comes in an easy to open plastic clamshell, it's not sealed so you can just pop it open. There's not much to the packaging, just some very basic info on the front and back.

Opening the package we find only the hub and nothing else, no drivers are needed for a USB hub usually, unless of course you are running an older Windows operating system. There are no identifying marks on the device, other than the words 'USB 2.0 HUB'. The hub comes packaged in its 'Star' form, this is where it gets its name obviously, and this is also a nice way to store it as well. One thing I noticed immediately, and really don't like, is the fact that the cable is permanently attached to the hub. Sure you can argue that you can loose the cable, but cables are cheap and I've got tons of them, if you break this cable you no longer have use of the hub. I'd rather replace a cable than buy an entire new product...

The USB Star Hub can be rotated as I mentioned, here are a couple examples:

Installation, Testing and Comparison:
Installation is easy, plug it in and Windows XP/Vista recognizes and installs the drivers automatically for it, takes a few seconds and you're ready to go.
Using it is easy as well, just plug your USB drives in and access them, the access times seem the same as using a direct USB connection.

What more can you ask from a hub? It works well, and does what it is supposed to do, it adds more USB ports to your computer if you need them...
Summary:
The USB Star Hub from Brando WorkShop is a simple device that just works, there might not be any flashy LEDs, but it does allow you to connect most any size USB device to it with it's rotating ports.
DragonSteelMods gives the USB Star Hub a 4.5 out of 5 score.

Pros:
-Portable, lightweight
-Flexible
-Rotates to allow most any size device
-Long cable
-Durable, well made
Cons:
-Cable permanently attached
I would like to thank Brando WorkShop for the chance to review the USB Star Hub and for their continued support of DSM.
