Evo-G MP1 Mousepad Review

Mousepads have evolved quite a bit from the little cloth things that come for free with many systems, sure they're nice for the average user, but when you've got a specialized, expensive gaming mouse those little freebie pads just don't cut it.

On the review block today I've got the Evo-G MP1 mousepad and it's a hybrid type of pad that offers the best of both worlds basically, a hard surface type pad that is on top of a soft, padded backing. The pad can be rolled if need be and since it's soft has a bit of give to it that makes it all that more comfortable. From my time with the MP1, I've found it to be a great pad overall, no matter what you're doing, and it works very well with either laser or optical mice.

So continue on to check out the MP1 from Evo-G...

Tech Specs,Features or the Basic Info:

MP1 Mousepad

Evo-G MP1 sets new standards for quality, tracking and glide, and we only recommend this product to gamers who want to experience a gaming surface we can only describe as 'spectacular'.

The glide and feel of MP1 does not resemble any other professional gaming mousepad on the market today. During research and development of this surface professional players described the mousepad as "the purest form of glide in the world".

FEATURES:

* Designed for high gaming performance

* Patented reflection technology

* 20% more upgrade tracking

* Special mid-rough surface

* Super slippery material

* Soft and safe rubber base

SPECIFICATIONS:

-Compatible with gaming grade optical and laser

-Surface material: High performance PP

-Dimension: 355mmx265mmx3mm

-Base: anti slippery rubber

A Better Look at Things:

The Evo-G MP1 comes packaged in a very nice tin box that can double as a way to transfer the pad if need be. It's wrapped in plastic, and has a paper wrapper around it that lists the specs and features.

The MP1 itself is sort of a combination hard surface and soft surface type of pad, the top is semi hard, but yet the entire thing is still flexible. There's a red star in the center, along with the Evo-G logo in the top left corner and their website address in the bottom right corner. The back side of the MP1 is a non-slip rubbery surface to make sure the pad stays in place while you're gaming.

Testing and Usage:

For me the pad is just about the perfect size, it's not too big or not small, it should fit on most desktops, even those with limited space.

During my time with the MP1 I've got quite a bit of use out of it, I used it with both the SteelSeries Ikari Laser and Optical mice, both tracked flawlessly on the MP1.

The surface is almost perfectly smooth with just a small bit of a texture to it to allow a bit of control with your mouse.

The MP1 is actually very nice to use for anything you're doing including any type of gaming and just your normal everyday uses.

Both Laser and optical mice tracked perfectly with the MP1, and they just glide across the surface of the pad.

Since the MP1 is a soft pad, it can be rolled, but not bent or folded as you could damage the surface, it's nice to have the flexibility and softness but yet have a hard surface to mouse on.

Summary and Comments:

The MP1 form Evo-G is a great pad for no matter you're doing, the fact that it is a hybrid style pad makes it all the more useful, and comfortable to use.

No matter what type of mouse, laser or optical, the MP1 allowed them both to track flawlessly.

DragonSteelMods gives the Evo-G MP1 Mousepad a 5 out of 5 score.

Pros:

-Slick surface

-Tracks well with both optical and laser mice

-Non-slip backing so pad stays in place

-Not too big and not too small, just the right size

-Nice metal tin for carrying it with you

Cons:

-None really

I would like to thank Evo-g for the chance to review the MP1 Mousepad and for their continued support of DSM.
