NZXT Premium Cables Review

NZXT Premium Cables Review

Have you ever installed a system in a
case and found that the main power cable was just a bit too short to
run it how you wanted to? That can apply to any other cable really
like the video card power cables, fan power cables or whichever one.
NZXT has come out with a line of cables to make our lives easier,
they’re well made cables that serve to extend the lengths of many of
those coming from your PSU to make them reach those hard to get at
places.

Today for review I’ve got a quick one
actually, it’s a set of cables from NZXT. They’re just called Premium
Cables, and for good reason they’re very nicely made. These cables
are essentially extensions for other cables you may already have
coming from your PSU, and that can make them very useful for anyone
really.

A
Better Look at Things:

Up above in the specs section you
can see which cables I got for review, and here they are in their
packaging, just plastic bags not much special, but it works.

Here’s the cables and a close up
of the connectors:

Here’s a close up of the power
supply cables, you can see they’re nicely braided and the braiding is
thick so it should protect the cables well.

Installation,
Testing and Comparison:

There’s nothing to installation,
they’re extension cables and that’s it, connect the ends where they
need to go and you’re done.

Here’s the fan cable:

Here’s all the other cables in
use. I did find the SATA cable very useful in particular, I had two
hard drives close together and just using this molex to two SATA
connections worked well.

The only thing that bothers me
about these cables, or actually just the main power cable is that
it’s a bunch of individual cables instead of a solid piece like you
would see on a regular power supply with braided covers. It’s not a
bit deal, just something that doesn’t sit right with me.

Summary
and Comments:

Well what can I really say about
these, they’re extension cables, and they do exactly what they’re
supposed to do.

The cables themselves are very
well made, the braiding seems nice and thick and should last a long
time and should protect the wires inside from cuts.

These cables are something that I
think would be very useful to anyone, especially those that build
their own computers.

We’ve all run across times when a
cable just wasn’t long enough, and these NZXT cables fix that issue
quickly and easily, and they’re nicely made.
