USB Powered CD Destroyer Review

A Better Look at Things

The CD/DVD Destroyer comes in our favorite (/sarcasm) sealed clamshell style packaging… It’s bright and colorful with the actual device being visible through the front of the package and the specs, features and instructions on the back.

After my trusty utility knife made short work of the packaging we unpack it to find only the CD Destroyer itself, a USB power cable and a leather carrying case.

The Destroyer is made entirely of plastic, making it very lightweight. There are no parts to loose as it is essentially all one piece. As you can see it’s silver in color with red and black accents. There is a main power button located on the top of the device towards the back, holding this down activates the Destroyer, but only if a CD or DVD is inserted as there is a button inside, under the black hood-like cover that is pushed by inserting a disc.

On the back of the device is where we find the power connection for the included USB cable.

The CD Destroyer features rubber feet as well to keep it in place while it’s doing it’s thing…

The part of the Destroyer that actually destroys your discs is the black ring which rotates while the CD or DVD rotates as well. The ring has three sharp, metal points on it that do the destroying.
