ECS NF650iSLIT-A (V1.0) Motherboard Review

A Better Look at Things pg5 -BIOS

The next part of the BIOS would be Advanced Chipset Features, here is where any overclocking might take place.

Yo can change the basics system clocks though one of the sub-menu and enable changing of the CPU multiplier, but it won’t unlock a locked CPU.

There is a menu titled FSB and Memory Config, here is where you can set the FSB memory Clock mode to Expert, Linked or Auto.

You can adjust the actual FSB with a pop-up menu where you input the DEC number, from 400-2500 to set the FSB.

There are some custom settings for the your memory, you can change the main settings, and a few of the advanced ones.

The next sub-menu under Advanced Chipset Features would be System Voltages, here obviously you can adjust the voltages of a few things.

The Voltages only go to 2.2v, and that was only after I mentioned it to my ECS tech person, this is actually my third BIOS from them, we were working back and forth to get everything to work correctly with the new E6420 CPU. I also mentioned the new ram I got from Crucial, the PC2-8500 Ballistix Tracer which runs at 2.2v. I asked for the extra voltage settings and I got them a day later in the form of a new BIOS update.. very nice…

The next BIOS screen are all the basic stuff you would see in any AwardBIOS, nothing really special at all, but then again this is a budget priced system, so it won’t have all the bells and whistles of one aimed at the enthusiasts market.
