Noctua NH-C12P CPU Cooler Review

A Better Look at Things

:

The packaging for the NH-C12P is familiar to you if you’ve seen any other Noctua products, the coloring and design are the same. There is a small cutout window in the front that you can see the fan through, and all the sides of the box has information about the product contained therein.

Opening up the box we find two more boxes, and inside of those boxes we find all of the parts needed for installation sorted in small bags. One thing I did find missing, that is normally included, is the cool ‘L’ shaped screwdriver, oh well…

I did ask Noctua about why the screwdriver was not included, this is what they said:

We didn’t include the screwdriver with the NH-C12P because it can easily be installed with any standard screw driver. It’s different with the tower coolers because you need a fairly long, thin screwdriver to reach through the fins and not all customers may have such a tool handy. Due to the lower height of the C12P and the width of the Airflow Gaps, we thought that nobody would need our screwdriver to install it”

The included fan is the Noctua NF-P12 that I reviewed before here on DSM, it’s quiet and does its job well.

Ok, now we’ve got some pictures of the actual cooler, it’s very well made, solid and actually not very heavy, it looks heavier than it feels…

The overall design is interesting, not quite like anything I have ever seen, but yet it has a resemblance to many others out there.. Here’s essentially a 360 degree view:
